Former American Judo champion, instructor, stunt performer, stunt coordinator, and professional wrestler,
Gene LeBell has worked on over 350 films and TV shows, and has authored a number of books.
In 2000, he was promoted to 9th Dan in US Ju-Jitsu and US Taiho-Jutsu by the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF).
In February 2005, he was promoted to 9th Dan in Traditional Kodokan Judo by the
USJJF.
Mr. LeBell is held in high regard by fans of combat sports, who affectionately refer to him as "Judo" Gene
LeBell. He has taught grappling skills to many well-known wrestlers and martial artists, including
Karo Parisyan, Mando Guerrero, The Rock (as well as his father many years before),
"Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Ken Shamrock, "Judo" Chris Adams, Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, Gokor Chivichyan, Robert Wall (aka Bob Wall),
and Ed Parker Sr. In 2005 he received the Frank Gotch Award to celebrate the positive recognition he has brought to the sport of
wrestling and grappling. Gene is associated with Gokor Chivichyan's Hayastan MMA Academy where he teaches MMA/grappling classes.

Top student of Gene
LeBell and heir to the Gene LeBell Grappling System, Gokor "The Armenian Assassin" Chivichyan
is an accomplished world-class competitor and instructor of Sambo,
Judo, submission grappling and MMA. He has produced fighters such as Manvel
Gamburyan, Karo Parisyan, Karen Darabedyan, Sevak Magakian, and Roman
Mitichyan, who have competed in the arenas of the UFC, WEC, King of the Cage, Olympic and
National Judo Championships.
Gokor began his training as a young child in Soviet Armenia, winning many national and international junior titles in Judo, Sambo, and wrestling. At the age of 17, Gokor relocated to Los Angeles, where he began his training in no-gi submission grappling under Gene LeBell. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Gokor actively participated in NHB/MMA, sport Judo, and Sambo grappling competitions in Europe, Japan, the United States, Mexico, and Canada. With the opening of the Hayastan Academy in 1991, Gokor retired from professional fighting, undefeated, and focused his time on teaching.
In 1997, Gokor came out of retirement to win a superfight organized by the World Fighting Federation. In 1998, he was named by Black Belt Magazine “Judo Instructor of the Year” and received the prestigious “Hall of Fame” spot.

Jeremy Jones began training under the instruction of
our Chief Instructor at the Vacaville Tracy’s Karate & Mixed Martial Arts Studio in the Kenpo Jiu-Jitsu system. He became an instructor and has been teaching Kenpo since 1997.
While studying, he was introduced to the art of Shootfighting. Containing such things as Muay Thai Kickboxing, Ju Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, Greco-Roman Wrestling (and more), Jeremy has now been coaching Shootfighting since 2000, as well as competing in amateur matches on occasion.
Immediately following an amateur bout in the spring of 2004, Jeremy found
CrossFit. He was certified in the fall of 2005.
Since his certification, Jeremy is still teaching Kenpo Jiu Jitsu and Shootfighting/MMA at our Fairfield, California Tracy's
Martial Arts Studio, as well as being one of the head coaches at Diablo CrossFit.
